(Received Nov. s, x at 11.30 p.m.) At the wool sales 11,441 bales were offered and 10,095 sold, while 414 were disposed of privately. All the best features of the previous day's sale were reproduced, with a particularly strong inquiry for good spinning descriptions, which were inclined to rule in sellers' favour. Yorkshire, Japan, and the Continent operated freely. Greasy merino sold to 231 d, which constituted a iresh record for the season. HIGH PRICE FOR FLOCK EWES (Per United Press Association) ASHBURTON, November 5. The highest price for flock ewes in Ashburton County for many years was obtained at a clearing sale at Lauriston. 202 Corriedale hoggets bringing 47s each. They ■were of exceptionally good quality, evenly woolled, and well grown. Ninety-three realised 44s 3d and 63 445. ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS Messrs Abraham and Williams, stock and station agents. Wellington, report for the year ended September 30 a net profit of £9414, after providing for land and income tax. To this is added £5814 brought forward from last year, making £15,228. From this sum has to be deducted the interim preference dividend for six months ended March 31, amounting to £2050 10s. The balance for distribution is £13,178. Out of this the directors propose to pay the half-year's dividend on preference shares amounting to £2050 10s, and they recommend carrying forward the balance of £11,127 to next year's accoust.
