RESIGNATION DEMANDED

NO REPLY FROM MR HUGHES MELBOURNE, November 4. (Received Nov. 5, at 1.30 a.m.) The Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons), who is occupying rooms a few doors from where Mr Hughes is staying in East Melbourne, stated to-night that he had received no reply from Mr Hughes to the' demand for his resignation and if none was forthcoming prior to his departure for Canberra to-morrow night Mr Lyons would make a statement of the position.
