BIC EXPENDITURE PLANNED
RUGBY, November 2. (Received Nov. 3, at 5.5 p.m.) The Daily Telegraph states that the Government is guaranteeing £25,000,000 loans to finance the principal railways programmes for replacing rolling stock, modernising stations and other facilities, and re-laying tracks, employing 4000 men for every £1,000,000 spent. The sum of £2,232,000 will be spent by the London Midland and Scottish railway during 1936 on new passenger and freight rolling stock. The programme includes the building of nearly 10,000 vehicles.
