FORESTERS

The fortnightly meeting of Court Pride of the Leith was held on October 23, when there was a good attendance of members. The C.R. being absent, the chair was taken by I.P.C.R. Bro. J. B. Watt. A feature of the evening was the large number of the older members present by special invitation. An interesting letter was read from Bro. R. H. Rutherford, a past officer of the court, now resident in Wellington. The invitation from Court King Edward’s Pride for teams to participate in the card tournament, and the invitation from Court Enterprise to its final social evening, were accepted. Reports were given by the S.W., J.W., and P.C.R. Bro. A. W. Jones on visits to sister courts, the latter brother pointing out that the court’s card team had qualified for the finals at the meeting of Court St. Andrew’s. The C.R. extended a welcome to the older members, which was responded to by P.C.R.’s Bros. A.- J. Harbrow, J. Hope, S. N. Munro, W. B. Anderson, and Bros. M. G. Thomson, A. Orr, J. M’Connell. and S. H. Osborn. The to.ist of “The Visitors” was responded to by P.C.R. Bro. J. N. Dyke, on behalf of Court King Edward’s Pride. Harmony was contributed by Misses S. and J. Kroon, Bros. W. Hargreaves, S. H. Osborn, H. H. Gaston, J. B. Watt, and R. H. Kerr. During the meeting one new member was admitted, and the evening terminated with a card tournament, which was won by P.C.R. Bro. D. S. Munro, followed by Bro. J. M'Conncll.
