DUNEDIN GUN CLUB
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP The competitions for the Dunedin Gun Club’s Championship was held at the club’s grounds, Green Island, on Saturday afternoon. There was a good muster of members and their friends, and the weather conditions were good except for a strong wind in the early part of the afternoon, which made the shooting somewhat difficult. A six-bird “ eyeopener ” match was fired to enable competitors to get their eye in before the next shot. The following seven competitors brokp six birds each;—E. P. Graham, S. F. Aburn, J. Donnelly, J. T. Callaghan, H. W. Brookes, W. Elliott, and J. K. Begg. The conditions of the championship were 21 birds off 10 yards. Twenty shooters faced the trap. E. P. Graham put up a fine performance to win with a possible of 21 birds (19 first barrel). He was followed by three competititors with 20 birds each, G. E. Turner (all first barrel), J. Steven, and J. K. Begg. After the match the president (Mr G. E. Turner), in an appropriate speech, congratulated Mr Graham on his splendid performance, and presented him with the cup. The last match was a three-pair Double Bisc Quail Drive, in which W. Elliott, J. K. Begg, and W. R; Morland broke five birds each. The scores in the Club Championship, 21 birds, 10 yards’ rise, were as follows: —
