COMMUNITY SING

FINAL NIGHT On November 12 the last sing for 1935 will be held, and the. curtain will be rung down after a most successful season. Mr J. F. Himburg, secretary and organiser, wishes, on behalf of the committee, to thank all those who have so generously given during the long season. Letters have been received from thousands of listeners-in from the North Island tj the far south offering their congratulations on the wonderful singing of the " community choir," and it is no boast m say that Dunedin has excelled itself in the singing this year. There is no doubt that community singing does give pleasure and joy to the sick and others who are not able to attend on Fridays. The occa sion should be a fitting climax 'as a good programme is being arranged, the Maeremai Maori Party of over 20 performers, under Mr A D. Macgregor. wi.l take part. Mies Lily Stevens's Scotch Ballet. Miss Shirley M'Clatchy (piano aeeordeon), Miss Betty Garland (violin solo), Mrs C. Searle (vocalist). Mrs J, Prinsle (vocalist), and Begg's* Orchestra which will accompany the singers, will also be heard. By special request " Demmv, Hemmie. and Alfie.' will appear in kilts.' Mr Arthur M'Donald has promised to giv*» nne guinea if Mr Himburg will iin<* "Wee House Amang the Heather." and he is almost sure to accept th» challence. It is hoped that the Mavor (the Rev. E. T.
