CRICKET

The second set of fixtures of the first round of the Association A Grade cricket matches will be played to-day. Owing to the fact that there was no play last Saturday, these fixtures will be confined to oneday matches, and consequently some bright cricket should be witnessed, as no doubt the teams will so out with an endeavour to force a win on the first innings. At Carisbrook a good game should be witnessed between Carisbrook A and Albion. Albion secured an eight-point victory in its first engagement, and proved that it has some fast scoring batsmen. Carisbrook also proved that it has a strong batting side. On tbo North Ground • Grang® will meet

Kaikorai. Both teams suffered defeat in the first engagement and will be keen to secure a win in the second match. At the University Oval University will meet Dunedin. The University secured a meritorious win against the Grange in the first engagement, and showed that it has a good all-round side. Duneuin's opening display was rather disappointing, but the players are confident of giving a better account of themselves in their future engagements. On Logan Park No. 2 ground Old Boys will meet the Colts. The presence of F. T. Badcock, the coach, in the Colts team will add interest to thia match, and he should also considerably strengthen the team.
