SKIPPERS, LTD.

SUPPORT FOR HYDRO-ELECTRIC SCHEME t (Special to Daily Times) ' WELLINGTON, November 1. At a meeting of Wellington shareholders in Skippers, Ltd., to-night, Mr W. G. M'Donald, one of the directors, explained the proposals of the directors in connection with the hydro-electric scheme at the company's mine on the Shotover River, which has been designed for the purpose of increasing the yardage handled in the intervals between floods. He quoted official figures showing that in three washups from an area of approximately 1000 square yards of bottom 448 ounces of gold had been won. No part of the ground worked was virgin. The company's operations to date conclusively proved the richness of the company's claim, and it only required ample power and cheap operating cost for the company to win through to success. Mr M'Donald answered numerous questions by shareholders, and all present agreed to subscribe their quota to a newpreference issue, provided that shareholders in other centres agreed to accord the proposal similar support.
