Constable J. Tretheway, who received notice of his transfer to the detective office at Christchurch a week or so ago, will leave Oamaru next Wednesday. Mr Lloyd Powell, examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, will conduct the practical examinations in Oamaru on November 14. Incidentally, the entries for the musical examinations this year constitute a record. Miss Joan Brown, of All Day Bay, Kakanui. has returned home after a eliort holiday visit to Kyeburn, where she had been staying with friends. Queen's Hotel.—Mr and Mrs M'Kenzie (Ashburton), Mr O. J.
