THE COAST OF FRANCE FROM THE COAST OF ENGLAND A photograph taken by the infra-red process from St. Margaret-at-Cliffe, Dover, across the English Channel to the coast of France. The atmospheric haze which limits the distance at which objects can be photographed is eliminated by this process, the plate being sensitive only to the infra-red rays in the atmosphere. As an indication of what is possible by this process, a photograph taken by an American aviator showed, above the curvature of the earth, the peak of a mountain more than 300 miles away.
