A STREET COLLISION TWO MEN THROWN UNDER TRAM (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 31. Following a collision at 8 o'clock this morning, between a motor cycle and a cycle in Pitt street, George Reynolds, aged 25,' single, the motor cyclist, and Eric Anderson, aged 20, the pillion rider, were thrown under the wheels of a moving tramcar. Both were admitted to hospital. Reynolds suffered head injuries, and _ his condition is critical. Anderson received head injuries and a fractured arm and leg, and his condition is very serious. The cyclist, William Rowland Lovatt, aged 15, struck the side of the tramcar, receiving head injuries and concussion, and his conditior. is fairly serious. KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR CYCLE FORMER MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT. (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 31. Through being struck by a motor cycle while crossing Karangahape road, in Newton, this evening Frederick N. Bartram, aged 06, formerly member of Parliament for Grey Lynn, suffeved head injuries. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital. His condition is not serious. The accident occurred when a misty rain was falling. The victim was crossing from the footpath to the safely zone when he was struck by the motor cycle and thrown heavily to the ground. The rider of the machine was also thrown, but escaped injury. DEATH FROM GUNSHOT WOUND (Per United Press Association) ROTORUA, October 31. A verdict of death as the result of a gunshot wound self-inflicted was returned by the coroner, Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., to-day at the conclusion of the inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death on October 17 of Loronce Williamson, aged 23, a painter, who was found lying dead across his bed in the staff quarters of a well-known Rotorua private hotel. Evidence given bv friends and fellow-members of the staff was to the effect that Williamson had been depressed as the result of an injury to his head suffered when cranking a car. The coroner said that the evidence pointed to the fact that the deceased had obtained a rifle from the room of the head porter, and had inflicted a fatal wound by firing the weapon with the muzzle in his mouth. ELDERLY WOMAN'S DEATH Ellon Carter, aged 00 years, died suddenly at her home, 047 Geotge street. late'on Wednesday night. Death was certified to be duo to natural causes, and an inquest whs therefore not necessary.
