WRESTLING
BLOMFIELD v. M'CREADY By securing the meeting between two such exponents of the grappling art, Blomfield and M'Cready, the Otago Wrestling Association will provide its patrons with the very best wrestling fare available. Right through the present wrestling season "Lofty" Blomfield has shown repeatedly that he has .achieved real class in the sport, and tomorrow night at the Town Hall he will have an opportunity to show just how good he really is by meeting the formid-
able Canadian, Earl M'Cready. During recent weeks Blomfield has been kept exceptionally busy. He has made most of the opportunities that have come his way, and has added quite a succession of wins to his already fine record. One who has provided him with particularly stiff opposition fs Glen Wade, but Blomfield again demonstrated in a recent contest that he is now more than a match for the clever Nebraskan. M'Cready is the only opponent against whom as yet Blomfield has been unable to register a fall. Physically he is able to break even with the British Empire champion in weight and strength, and he certainly appears to be the most likely man in the Dominion to break the Canadian's remarkable record of not having a fall recorded against him to date this season. Beserves may be made at the D.I.C. WALKER BEATS VENTER (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, October 31. George Walker beat Peter Venter, of South Africa, to-night in a professional wrestling bout, billed as being for the championship of the British Empire, which Walker claims to hold. Venter secured the first fall in the. second round, but Walker equalised in the fourth round with a backloop slam and finished the match within a few seconds of the opening of the next round with a body press. The attendance was poor. Walker's weight was declared at 15.5 and Venter's at 14.8. M'CREADY BEATS JAGET SINGH (Peh United Press Association) GISBORNE, October 31. Before a crowded house this evening, Earl M'Cready, 16.11 (Canada), beat Jaget Singh, 10.9 (India), by one fall. The contest was even throughout, but in the sixth round M'Cready scored with an octopus deathlock. There were no further falls. The bout was one of the best seen here, and the audience was very appreciative.
