" It has been said that we should hand New Zealand back to the Maoris with apologies for the mess we have made of it. I think we can honestly say the present Government is almost heading in that direction. People are leaving New Zealand and the white population is decreasing." These were the words of Mr C. Morgan Williams, Labour candidate for Kaiapoi. speaking last Saturday evening at the Shirley School (reports the StarSun). He said that the Maori population was increasing rapidly. If the present Government remained in power for the next 300 years the population would, in the "lisht of the present trend, be largely Maoris. " But," he added, " I don't think the present Government is going to last anything like 300 years—or 300 days. I think, therefore, we can save a white New Zealand."
