There was a large attendance of members of Court Pride of Bruce attached to Court Bruce, at Milton, at its last monthly meeting, when an official visit was paid by Court Pride of Molyneux (Balclutha). There were also present several members of Courts Molyneux and Queen of the Molyneux. The visitors were welcomed by the president, Bro. J. Begg, who stated that it was the first visit they had received from the juvenile members of Balclutha, and he hoped the visit would be the forerunner of many future interchanges, which would create more friendliness and assist in stimulating interest between the courts.' C.R. Bro. A. Mason and the president (Bro. G. M'Bride) responded, and congratulated Court Pride of Bruce on its change of constitution to that of a mixed court, and for its great advancement. Following the meeting a social was held, at which the visitors, parents, and friends of members attended. Harmony was contributed by Misses H. Martin, N. Barrett, L. Jane, Sis. E. Paul, Bro. R. Burn, Mr J. Patterson, and tap dances were rendered by Miss Kirwood (Balclutha). Bagpipe selections were given by Mr A. Waters (Balclutha). The accompaniments were played by Miss F. Farquharson (Balclutha) and Mr W. Taylor. On behalf of Court Pride of Bruce, President Bro. Begg expressed thanks to the parents for their presence, to the performers and others who had assisted at the function. It was hoped, to arrange for. a return visit to Balclutha at* an early date. At the meeting of Court Bruce held on October 12 a complimentary night was tendered to past officers and old members. There was a fair attendance of members present, and the following past. officers occupied the chairs, and carried out the duties in a capable manner:—C.R., Bro. J. N. Read; S.C.R., Bro. F. Read; C.T., Bro. G. W. Sidon; C.S., Bro. M. E. Paul; S.W., Sis. M. H. Read: J.W., Bro. W. Kennedy; 5.8., Bro. C. D. Stewart; J. 8., Bro. W. Nimmo, jun.; and 1.P.C.R., Sis. A. J. Read. An invitation was accepted from Loyal Victoria , Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F., to attend a dance at the next meeting night. The following were elected to represent the court on the Board of Management of the local U.F.S. Dispensary:—Bros. J. Read, . J. A. Stewart, M. E. Paul, and J. N. Read. It was decided that the hour of meeting be altered to 8 p.n*. during the summer months. C.R. Bro. W. Nimmo extended a hearty welcome to the old members, and he specially congratulated the Read family on having so many of its members in the chairs for the evening. Bros. T. H. Russell and J. Read responded on behalf of the old members. At the conclusion of the meeting a social hour was spent and a successful meeting concluded.
