DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB

The monthly meeting of the Dunediu Jockey Club, held yesterday, was attended by Messrs Hanlon (chairman), Hazlett, W.-J. Coughlan, J. A. Cook, C. N. Draper, W. F. Edmond, W. Garrett. B. S. Irwin, J. A. Mathewson, L. J. Potter, A. N. Smith, F. Tyson, Drs Batchelor and Ross. A statement of the recent spring meeting wag produced and considered very satisfactory. Satisfactory reports were received from the stipendiary steward and the gates superintendent. In connection with the summer meeting the Programme Committee was authorised to prepare a programme with liberty to increase the stakes between £2OO and £3OO. It was resolved to commence the racing at the summer meeting at 12 noon each day, with 38-minute interval between the races. Mr C. Gieseler was appointed starter for the season. . The chairman of the Works Committee reported that the painting of the outside buildings, the iron fencing, and the fencing round the course was well in hand and would be completed during the next month. t , .
