STATEMENT BY MR BALDWIN (British Official Wirelessi RUGBY, October 20. Mr Stanley Baldwin said that, while he was prepared to pursue a policy of support of the League of Nations, which was the policy of the whole country, with his heart and soul, he could not be responsible for the conduct of any Government at the present time if he was not given power to remedy the deficiencies which had accrued in the defence services since the war.
