SAVOY'S FLORAL DISPLAY

TULIP-TIME SEASON EXTENDED The successes of past years have been repeated with the Savoy's annual tuliptime festival, and an extension of the season for another week has been decided upon, and again this week the Savoy Is staging a decorative scheme of beauty and charm, carried out with an entirely fresh stock of the lovely tulips. Apart from its delicacy of colour and grace, the tulip lends itself admirably to table decorative purposes, and the quality of the blooms at the Savoy should again interest the flower lovers.. Featured in the dazzling array of dainty, nodding tulips on show yesterday were many varieties of the new breed, the Triumphs. An early bloomer, the Triumph is not excelled, by the Darwins or cottage varieties in richness of colour and size, and among the most striking are Denal, a deep pink; U.S.A.. a pink with a shot-silk effect; King Harold, a deep red; Lord Carnarvon; and two exquisite blacks, La lulip Noire and La Merrivillc. The Dutch atmospheric effect is emphasised in the novel stage settings and in the scena " By the Zuyder Zee," in which four pupils of Miss Lily Stevens present a melange of song and dance. The clever girls are Misses Laura Bain, Joyce and Ethel Todd, and Norma Brown, and this week's augmentation of the cast gives additional sparkle to an attractive and bright act. The costuming is a feature. The act will be presented at both afterroon and evening sessions throughout the week.
