(Received Oct. 27, at 8 p.m.) Belated reports from remote sections of the island indicate that a major disaster resulted as an aftermath of the tropical. hurricane which last week-end caused considerable damage in Cuba and Jamaica. NEWS BY AEROPLANE PORT AU PRINCE (Haiti), Oct. 20. (Received Oct. 27, at 9 p.m.) An aeroplane has brought word from the southern peninsula of the island, which has been isolated since Monday. There has been heavy loss of life and the bodies of 96 persons have been recovered at Jacmale. The pilot estimated that the dead there might rrach 1000. Crops were destroyed.
