MENACE TO M. LAVAL AN AWKWARD POSITION PARIS, October 26. (Received Oct. 27, at 9 p.m.) M. Laval may fall on the question of the suppression of Fascism. The Radical-Socialists Congress, comprising the Left parties and constituting the “ Front Populaire,” is considering a resolution adopted by the executive demanding that M. Laval should call Parliament together early enough to dissolve the Fascist leagues before discussing the Budget. If M. Laval refuses, the Socialists will be obliged to resign from the Cabinet. If he agrees there is a danger that the “ Right ” Ministers will resign. M. Herriot has not declared his attitude, but it is hoped to find a waj to conciliation. Laval by a compromise resolution demanding that Parliament’s first act must be to discuss Bills enabling th* dissolution of Fascist Leagues to prevent semi-military exercises. It alse urged the suppression of the private salof arms, the modernisation of parlia mentary procedure, accompanied by revision of M. Laval’s economy decrees. The Congress re-elected M.
