TRUTHFUL ALBION
A FRENCH TRIBUTE BRITAIN’S HORROR OF LYING (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) PARIS, October 2G. (Received Oct. 27, at 9 p.m.) M. Herriot, addressing the RadicalSocialist Party Conference, after emphasising that co-operation between England and France was indispensable for the protection of what liberty still remained in the world, added that when Britain declared that she had no personal in terests in the conflict between Italy and Abyssinia, France must believe her. France must not doubt the word of a British Minister or of a British gentleman. “ When the British Minister says. ‘ That is our position,’ I declare emphatically, ‘ I believe you.’ I ask my countrymen to do the same. Britain has a horror of lying.”
