WRESTLING
M‘CREADY v. BLOMFIELD What promises to bo one of the best contests here will take place in the Town Hall on Saturday, when “ Lofty ” Blomtield will again try conclusions with Earl M'Crcady, the clever Canadian. It is a recognised fact that M'CTeady ranks within the first IB of the world’s best wrestlers, and has a most impressive record both in Canada and the United States, while during his present visit to the Dominion ho has wrestled over 40 contests without having a single fall registered against him. Blomfleld’s reputation as a wrestler is not so great as that of the Canadian, whom ho has already met on two occasions, but on both previous occasions when these men met Blomfiekl had just returned to the Dominion and had not had an opportunity either to train or to wrestle into really good shape. He has since made great improvement in his work, as evidenced by his recent victories over such good exponents as Glenn Wade, Jagct Singh and Ole Andrcson. The box plan will be opened at the D.T.C. to-morrow morning. PENCHEFF BEATS LURICH (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY, October 27. (Received Oct. 27, at 8 p.m.) At the Leichhardt Stadium in a “ light to the finish bout,” wrestled without rounds, Lurich, after securing the first fall, was severely back slammed by George Pcncheff, who won the match through the former being unable to continue. WALKER BEATS FEZUL MOHOMET (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 27. Moliomct secured a fall in the third round after dumping Walker. The bout was not a good one, both contestants being very slow in their movements. WADE DEFEATS CATALINO (Per United Press Association) GREYMOUTH, October 27. In an uninteresting wrestling contest on Saturday night Glen Wade defeated Tony Catalino by two falls, obtained in the sixth and eighth rounds, to one, obtained in the seventh.
