The regular meeting of Valley True Blue Lodge was held on Tuesday, W.M. Bro. Reid presiding over a good attendance of members. One candidate was initiated. The auditor’s report and secretary’s balance sheet were received and adopted. Sick pay was heavy in comparison with recent quarters. However, it is pleasing to note that sick payments are now back to normal. An invitation to attend the L.O.L. church parade at Hanover Baptist Church was accepted. It was decided to strengthen the Social Committee by giving it power to add to its number as required. Pride of the Valley Ladies' Lodge met on Tuesday, W. Mist. Sister Gumming presiding over "a fair attendance. One candidate was initiated. An invitation to attend the L.O.L. church parade, to be held at Hanover Baptist Church on November 3, was accepted, and it was decided to attend officially. A merit hoard will shortly be obtained and hung in the lodge room, and this should be a decided acquisition. True Blue Juveniles hold its fortnightly meeting on Tuesday, W.M. Bro. Davies presiding over a good attendance of officers and members. A competition was hold, Bro. Bachop being the winner. The superintendents, Bros. Drysdale, Campbell and Madden, addressed the members, and expressed pleasure at the progress made. At the meeting of Hope of Valley Juvenile Girls’ Lodge, Sister Shackleton presided in the unavoidable absence of the W. Mist. Owing to unforeseen circumstances parents’ night, which was lo have been held on next lodge night, has now been postponed till December. After lodge business a happy hour was spent in games. On October 17 a party of juveniles, led by Dominion Superintendent Bro. G. Perrin and several lady superintendents, visited Ross Home and entertained the old folk with community singing and a wide variety of items. Those who made the trip gave of their best, and cheered the inmates considerably. After the performance the juveniles were thanked for their efforts and Bro. Perrin, in his reply, stated that he hoped to return at some future date with a bigger partv.
