CHURCH SERVICES

At First Church to-morrow the Rev. W. Allen Stevely’s morning subject will be “Christ for the World,” and there will be memorial reference to the Rev. Dr James Gibb. At the evening service shipmates and descendants of passengers of the ship Auckland will attend, and the subject will be “ Another Country.” The anthem will be “ Seek Ye the Lord” (Roberts), and the solo, “Love Not the World” (Sullivan). Dr Galway will be at the organ. The Rev. D. C. Herron will conduct both services in Knox Church. The subject for the evening will be “ The Social Leper.” The Rev. T. Keith Ewen will conduct both services at Hanover Street Baptist Church, speaking in the morning on “ Held by the Right Hand,” and in the evening on “ Kept in Perfect Peace. ’ The choir will render the anthem “ God is a Spirit,” and a solo will be sung by Mr H. Drew. Services of divine worship at Moray Place Congregational, Church will be conducted morning and evening by the Rev. Albert Mead. In the evening, when the Otago Battalian of the Boys’ Brigade, and also officers in Dunedin for the Dominion Conference, will attend, the subject will be “ The First Christian Brigade.” The choir will sing the anthem “ Hearken Unto Me ” (Harris). At the Theosophical Society the fourth lecture of the “Straight Theosophy” campaign, entitled “ Fate and Freedom,” will be delivered by Mr J. M. M'Ewan. Services at the United Congregational Church will be conducted by the Rev. C. G. Hedley Bycroft. The title for his morning subject is “ Our Need and His Riches,” and for the evening session it will be “ The Love of Christ.” First Church of Christ, Scientist, will conduct services in Allbell Chambers, Stuart street. The subject of the morning and evening services will be “ Probation After Death.” “ The Problem of Joy ” will be the theme of the Rev. C. H. Olds at Trinity Methodist Church to-morrow. The anthem will be “The Lord is My Shepherd,” and Mr 0. M. Olds will sing “ The Legend.” Mr W. E. Reynolds will deliver an address at the Spiritualist Church tomorrow evening entitled “ Preparing for the New Age.” The meeting is open to everyone interested.
