THE PEOPLE’S ORDER
TO THE EDITOR. Sir. — A fact that seems to be lost sight of is that a body of men —the Government - is supposed to be selected by the people to bring about specific results which the people desire. Now, the conclusion to be drawn from this is that the people must give the politicians their (the people’s) order. The order by the majority would undoubtedly be that all the existing wealth—goods and service—be available for distribution to all of the people because all of the people are working all of the time in -all of the resources. The people see the anomaly of starvation alongside plenty. They see real wealth and financial poverty. They want this rectified by the above order being carried out. So it behoves them to question their candidates on the vital subject and elect only those who will deliver this order. The means to bring about our desired result need not necessarily bother us. We have our experts in all the trades, professions and sciences. A motorist dare not take his motor to his mechanic and tell him “how” to make it function; he tells him it is “not” functioning, and tells him to make it function.—l am, etc., J. T. [The Government is the representative of the people to give effect to the policy which it enunciates and they endorse.— Ed.. O.D.T.]
