THE DEMOCRAT PARTY’S POLICY

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I have just received by post a printed letter from Captain R. Fraser, Democrat candidate for Chalmers, containing 14 planks of his political platform. il have read them over carefully, and noted what his party intends to do for civil servants, old-age pensioners, soldiers, etc. —all very good. But I would like .to ask him, and all other candidates, what they are prepared to do for widows and spinsters who are not yet old- enough to get a pension, but whose income the Government has so curtailed by its interest-reduction legislation that they find it difficult to make ends meet? —I am, etc., Inquirer. Broad Bay, October 23.
