The returned soldiers' golf tournament, which proved very successful last year, is to be held again this year on Labour Day at the Balmacewen course. Already over 50 entries have been received and it is fully anticipated that the programme, which will follow the same lines as previously, will provide excellent entertainment for players and spectators alike. Entries will be closed on Friday at 5 p.m. The Railways Department advertises in this issue particulars of a cheap day excursion to Catlins River branch and special train arrangements in connection with Maclennan Sports on Labour Day.
