ACCIDENT TO RAIL CAR YOUTH FOUND GUILTY (Per United Press Association) PALMEESTON N., October 22. lan Bruce Cossar-Miller, aged 19, of Feilding, was found guilty in the Supreme Court to-day of placing an obstruction on the railway line at Feilding on July 28. k The case was the outome of the rail car, in which the general manager of railways (Mr G. H. Mackley) was travelling, striking a boulder weighing 371 b and large enough to derail the train. Fortunately the Wver saw the obstruction and slowed down, but not quickly enough to avoid striking it. The accused's explanation was that he had taken the boulder to the line intending to break it, and wh.m his attention was distracted by a rahbit which he and his companion chased they forgot about tin stone. The jury recommended mercy on account of the mental state of the accused.
