PERCY GRAINGER CONCERT

The concert arranged by the New Zealand Broadcasting Board will take place to-night in the Town Hall. _ Percy Grainger, the world-famous pianist, will be assisted by the Dunedin Orchestral Society (conductor, Mr T. Vernon Griffiths), the Choral Society's Madrigal Club (conductor, Mr A. Walmsley), Dr V. E. Galway, Mr Max Scherck, and Mrs H. C. Campbell. Among the items to be performed are " Handel in the Strand," " The Hunter in His Career," " Country Gardens," "Recessional," "The Merry Wedding," "Molly on the Shore," "Blithe Bells," "Spoon River," "The Rose Bearer," " Islamey," " I'm Seventeen Come Sunday," "Australian Upcountry Song," "Tribute to Foster," and the first movement of ihe " Concerto in A Minor, Op. 16," by Grieg. Percy Grainger will take part in each piece, as guest conductor or as solo pianist. Mrs Ella Grainger will be heard playing the miramba, xylophone, chime bells, and musical glasses.
