TO THE EDITOR. Sib,—Give me the Public Works Department for mean actions. Men employed here since the winter making good roads have been looking forward to the holiday on Labour Day, but have been told they are not going to be paid for it. Men on relief work in town are paid for the holiday. Our pay is very small when it cornea to keeping two homes going. Why should we be treated so shabbily, when we were looking' forward to spending the holiday with our families? Some of the men here were handy in 1914.—1 am, etc., Baffled. Hillgrove, October 21.
