CRIMINAL SESSIONS (Per United Press Association) PALMERSTON N., October 22. The quarterly session of the Supreme Court opened before Mr Justice Smith. There is a fairly lons list of civil actions besides three criminal eases for trial. True bills were returned against Manly Symcs charged with intent to do grievous bodily harm to Sylvester Charles Campbell, and that he did actual bodily harm to Elsie Elizabeth Symcs; secondly, that he assaulted Symes so as to cause actual bodily harm; thirdly, that he caused actual bodily barm to Symes; fourthly, that he did assault. Symes; also against Matthew George Matson, theft from a dwelling and receiving. A LIGHT CALENDAR (Peg United Press Association) CITRISTCIIUItCII, October 22. Only three cases were presented for trial at the criminal sessions, which commenced before Mr Justice Northcroft today. True bills were returned in all the cases, and later Hugh Francis Haughey, charged with theft and receiving stolen money, and Gilbert Eldred, on two charges of indecent assault, pleaded guilty. The remaining case, a charge of robbery with violence, against Johu Robert Armstrong, was postponed till to-mor-row. His lionor expressed pleasure at the diminution in crime, and again voiced (support of the'grand jury system.
