MEETING OF ASSOCIATION A meeting of the committee of the Otago Lawn Tennis Association was held last night, when there were present Messrs W. R. Sinclair (in the chair), R. Phillipps, A. T. Jensen, S. Falconer, E. Swete, S. N. Brown, T. Grimsdale, E. D. Duthie, E. 6. Ruhen, C. J. Rawlinson, A. Morrison, G. H. Jolly, C. Muir, and Dr Fulton. The question of extending the tram service and providing a more adequate service to Logan Park was discussed, and it was resolved to approach the other bodies interested in this matter with a view to placing the necessity for improving the communication to Logan Park before the City Council. Letters were received from the Roslyn and St. Kilda Clubs regarding the ladies' A Grade match between these two clubs, in which the Doubles match was unfinished. —It was resolved that the Doubles match should be replayed. Mr J. Farquharson wrote thanking the association for re-electing him a vicepresident and forwarding a donation to the association's funds.—Received with thanks. Mr W. Brookes forwarded a report regarding the coaching of players last season. The following were appointed a sub-committee to make arrangements for the coaching of players, showing distinct promise:—Messrs ' Jolly (convener), Grimsdale, Swete, and Ruhen. Correspondence was received from the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, and it was decided to advise the Otago delegates that this association favoured the Management Committee's report regarding overseas tours. It wa e resolved to write congratulating Miss D. Miller (Oamaru) on her inclusion in the New Zealand ladies' team for Sydney. It was resolved that entries for the M'Millan Cup tourney should close on Monday, November 25, at 5 p.m. Entries are to come through club secretaries, and are to state the grading of the players entering for the tournament. The entry fee was- fixed at 2 S 6d per pair, balls to be provided by the association. It was resolved to add Mr E. G. Ruhen to the Handicapping Committee. It was resolved that in future the qualifications for a player to be entitled to an Otago blazer would be that the player must have played in two home major as sociation matches, or in three major association matches. Major association matches ar e matches against Canterbury. South Canterbury, North Otago, and Southland. The question of securing ground members for the association was discussed. It was suggested that the association should endeavour to obtain members at 10s per annum, these members to have admission to all matches and tournaments under the jurisdiction of the association and to exhibition matches. The following were appointed a sub-committee to bring forward a report to the next meeting:— Messrs T. Grimsdale (convener), S. N. Brown, A. M'Millan, S. Falconer, and Dr Fulton.
