VISIT TO ELECTORATE RETICENT REGARDING BUDGET (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, August 25. The Minister of Finance, Mr Coates, passed through Auckland on Saturday morning on his way from Wellington to his home at Matakohe, North Auckland. To-morrow he will address a meeting at Dargaville, and he will address another meeting at Helensvillc on Tuesday. On Weonesday he will return to Auckland and will be the speaker at the luncheon of, the Auckland Credit men’s Club. He will then return to Wellington for the opening of Parliament on Thursday. “ There is going to be a tremendous development in airways, externally at all events,” said Mr Coates. “By meeting people in the United Kingdom and the United States, one was able to gather knowledge of the tremendous strides al ready made in air services, of extensive improvements in machines, in ground or ganisation, and in methods generally. “ You will have to wait to see what the Budget discloses,” said Mr Coates when asked if the Government had in view any taxation reduction, or any plans or proposals for wage restorations. Mr Coates said he was not prepared to comment on the possible date of the .general election.
