THE MOANA CLUB
The twenty-sixth annual meeting of the Moana Lawn Tennis Club was held last evening. The president (Mr F. H. Campbell) presided. Moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, the president said that the club was in a very flourishing condition, and he was very pleased with the financial statement.. Although the balance of £lB shown last year had been reduced to £3 15s Id, the club had paid £63 for top-dressing and maintenance. The report and balance sheet were adopted. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows: —President, Mr F. H, Campbell; vice-presidents—Messrs W. R. Brugh, E. Sunderland, J. S. Nicolson, and Dr F.' Perry; secretary, Mr A, Nicolson; treasurer, Mr J. Long; auditor, Mr E. Sunderland; committee —Messrs E. I). DutHie, R. Cook, A. Chisholm, Misses C. Black, G. Christie; delegates to the Otago Lawn Tennis Asisoeiation, Messrs E. D. Duthie and R. Guy; Social Committee — Misses E. Logan, B. Payne, T. Allan, R. Frapwell Opening day was fixed for September 21,
It was stated that this year was the jubilee of the Otago Lawn Tennis Association, which was claimed to be the oldest in the Dominion, and members were urged to give the observance of the event their support. After some discussion, a motion to the effect that Sunday play on the Moana courts be not discouraged was carried. At the conclusion of the business of the evening, the president entertained member* at a social iok.
