The Waimate Hunt Club will hold its annual race meeting to-day, when the card should supply some interesting sport in addition to possibly providing a line to more important events to be decided in the near future. If Waterpower is anything in like form she would be selected as favourite. Cleaner has been a disappointment for some time, but finished a fair fourth in the Prince Edward Handicap, run at Timaru, and they may be backed in the order on the card.

The above field provides the problem of finding the best of a moderate lot, and Aueter, who has some placed performances, may be in demand, with insox and Peterette or Fiat Lux.

4.5 p.m. — WAIMATE HACK HANDICAP, Of 50sovs. Seven furlongs.

At one time Blazon gave indication of training into a good horse, hut his latest efforts have been disappointing. Golden Dart ran second to Rebel Lad at the Tunaru winter meeting, and will be suited by the shorter distance at Waimate. Golden Dart may start favourite, with Impala and Importance regarded as those most likely to cause trouble.
