WAITAKI FROM MELBOURNE. The Waltakl Is duo at Dunedin this morning from Melbourne, via Bluff, to discharge general cargo. She Is to sail this afternoon for Lyttelton and Wellington to complete discharge. JAMES COOK FROM SYDNEY. The intercolonial steamer James Cook, with cargo from Adelaide and Sydney, arrived at Wellington on Monday. She Is to sail to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin. The vessel is due here on Saturday and will sail on Monday for Wanganui, Greymouth, Sydney and Brisbane. ANTIOPE FOB WESTPORT. Having discharged a part cargo of phosphates, the steamer Antiope left Dunedin yesterday morning for Westport to replenish her bunkers. Her subsequent movements have not been announced. AELYBRYN WITH SULPHUR. The Norwegian steamer Aelybryn is duo at Dunedin to-morf-ow from Texas, via northern ports, to discharge a part cargo of sulphur. She will complete discharge at Wanganui and Australian ports. ABEL TASMAN FROM AUSTRALIA. Messrs Keith Ramsay, Ltd., advise that the Abel Tasman, which loaded at New South Wales ports, was to leave Eden last night for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due hero on August 4, and after discharge will sail for Greymouth, Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle. BREEZE TO DOCK. The Canterbury Steam Shipping Company's motor ship Breeze Is due at Lyttelton this morning from Wellington and will dock for / cleaning. and painting. She Is to sail to-morrow for Dunedin and will load here on Friday for Tlmaru, Lyttelton. Wellington, Picton and Wanganui. THE CITY OF GLASGOW The New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the City of Glasgow left New York on July 10 and Newport News on July 12 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australia. She Is duo at Auckland about August 12. PORT HUON LEAVES ADELAIDE. The C. and D. Line has received cabled advice that the motor ship Port Huon left Adelaide at 8 a.m. on Friday for Opua, where she is duo on July 26 to commence Homeward loading. NIAGARA IN DOCK. The liner Niagara, which was damaged in a collision with the freighter King Egbert, in the straights of Juan do Fuca, during a fog on July 16, was placed In dry dock at Esquimau, near Victoria, British Columbia, last Saturday, according to a cable message received by the Union Steam Ship Company, and it Is ex'pccted that repairs will take several days. The cablegram says that It Is expected that It will be possible to arrange for the Niagara to omit the cal! at Sydney, so that she may sail from Auckland on August 20 on her northward run according to schedule. PERSONAL. A well-known seafarer, Captain Robert Owens, died at his home. In Herne Bay. Auckland. recently, at the age of 86. Out of the 60 years he spent at sea. Captain Owens was " in steam " for only six months, being for that time first officer of the Auckland-owned steamer, the Little Agnes. Although he had been wrecked three times, he had never suffered a day’s illness of any kind until a slight paralytic stroke, which occurred at Newcastle in 1925, forced him to leave the sea. TAMAROA AT PORT CHALMERS. Fine weather, with the exception of the last four days, when a strong wind and a heavy confused swell were met, was experienced by the Shaw, Savlll, and Albion Company’s steamer. Tamaroa. which arrived at Port Chalmers yesterday morning from London and Southampton, via Panama, Wellington and Lyttelton. The passage was made In 33 days, the actual steaming time being 32 days 1 hour 46 minutes. The vessel left London on June 14, arriving at Curacao at 6 a.m. on June 26. After a stay of seven hours, during which time the passengers availed themselves of the opportunity to visit one of the largest oil refineries in the world, the Tamaroa proceeded to Colon, arriving there at 11 a.m. on June 28. The vessel berthed at Balboa at 7 p.m. the same day, and resumed her voyage at midnight for Pitcairn Island, arriving at 9 p.m. on July 8, and resuming her voyage at 10.30 p.m. for Wellington, where she arrived on July 18. The Tamaroa is discharging general cargo from London. She will also load products at Port Chalmers, and will sail on Saturday for Bluff, Lyttelton, W’elllngton, New Plymouth and Auckland to complete loading. The Tamaroa
