ORPHANS’ CLUB

The fortnightly meeting of the Dunedin Orphans’ Club was held last night, the president (Mr C. J. L. White) occupying the chair. There was a good attendance of members, including representatives of other clubs from as far afield as Auckland and Invercargill. The entertainment for the evening consisted of the presentation of an enjoyable concert programme, to which the following members contributed: —Bros. L. Deans Ritchie, L. B. Borrow, E. Griffin, J. Davies, and A. Macdonald (sonss), Bro. S. Lock (recitation), Bro. F. Olsen (sleight of hand), Bro. A. N. Watson (humorous items), and Bro. V. A. Le Petit (’cello solos). A double quartet of members of the Returned Soldiers’ Choir rendered items, and the club's orchestra, which was conducted by Bro. H. F. Davie, in the absence of Bro. J. Clark, played several selections.
