Ministerial. The Minister of -Industries and Commerce (Mr R. Masters), who has been visiting Dunedin on departmental business, left for Invercargill yesterday morning, accompanied by his private secretaiy (Mr K. M. Sleight.). Mr I H. Chapman travelled by yester-, day’s express to Christchurch. Mr J. A. Roberts left Dunedin yesterday morning on a business visit to Wellington. , Mr W. Jacobsen was a passenger by yesterday’s express for Christchurch. Mr P. M'Skimming, M.P. for Clutha, was a through passenger by yesterday s express for the north, en route to Wellington. , , XT Mr L. J. Berry, secretary of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of New Zealand, arrived in Dunedin yesterday. He will visit Invercargill before returning north. " , Mr W. Robertson, under-secretary tor Lands, left Dunedin by .yesterday’s express for the north, on his return to Wellington. . Sir James Grose, .general manager ot the National Bank of New Zealand, Ltd., was a passenger by yesterday’s express for the north, on his return to Wellington.
A Wellington Press Association message stated that Mr Justice Callan will be appointed permanently to the Supreme Court Bench on July 31, When Mr Justice Herdinan retires.
