NATIONALITY REGAINED
WOMAN’S LEGAL BATTLE ' LONDON, July 6. A Government Gazette announces that Winifred James, well-known novelist, travel writer and journalist, has been granted a British naturalisation certificate.
The daughter of an English clergyman, Miss James was born in Victoria. She became an American citizen when she married Mr Henry de Jan, of Louisiana, United States, in 1913. Afterwards she went to England and eight years ago began the legal fight, which she has just won, to regain her British nationality.
