A FAREWELL PARTY

(From Our Own Correspondent.) LONDON, June 29. Mr and Mrs Forbes invited 250 friends —most of whom were New Zealanders — to a party at the Savoy Hotel, from 5.30 p.m, to 7.30 yesterday afternoon.. It was in the nature of a farewell on the eve of their departure, and it proved to be a very delightful occasion. Among the guests were some who not long since had re-visited the Dominion and who still entertain a great affection for the country and its people. The arrangements at the Savoy are always carried out to perfection, and the guests are happy in their surroundings. Mr and Mrs Forbes had a warm greeting for everyone and spoke of the very pleasant time they had had here. Among those present were some officials from the Dominions Office, the Lord Chief Justice and Lady Hewart, Mr and Mrs Coates, Sir James Parr, Mies Parr, Sir C. and Lady Daw, Sir A. J. and Lady Godley, Sir T. and Lady Wilford, Sir C. Kinloch Cooke, Mrs Moss Davis, Miss Davis, Sir Murdoch and Lady Mackenzie Wood, Mr H. Turner, Mr and Mrs C. A. Jeffery, Colonel and Mrs G. J. Smith, Dr and Mrs Bernard Myers, Mr and Mre K. S. Forsyth, Colonel and Mrs Eric Murray, the departmental heads of the High Commissioner’s Office with their wives.
