NORFOLK ISLAND ORANGES

READY SALE IN AUCKLAND (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, July 21. Norfolk Island was stripped of all marketable oranges when the Union Company's steamer Kairanga. which arrived at Auckland on Fridav evening, called there on her way from Newcastle. The Kairanca brought 2300 cases of ora'nges. the first that have been imported from the island for three years. The Kairanga's shipment is from the "backyard orchards at Norfolk Island, the largest single consignment being only 80 cases. They were landed in eood condition and sold readily at the markets at 14s a case.' The arrival of Australian oranges has resulted in "considerable . fluctuations in the wholesale prices. One day buyers seem to prefer Island oranges, and the next thev are demanding Australian oranges, but generally the latter meet with the readier sale.
