BRITISH SHIPPING
LESS TONNAGE LAID UP (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 20. The Chamber of Shipping's quarterly return of tonnage laid up in the ports of Great Britain and Ireland shows a further improvement. On July 1 there were 575,910 tons of British shipping laid up, which is 117,709 tons, or 16.7 per cent, less than on April 1, and 454,283 tons, or 43.0 per cent, less than a year ago.
