ROYAL MALE CHOIR

The Royal* Dunedin Male Choir ■will present this evening; at the Town Hall its 189th concert, and this should .prove a successful function.' Part songs' 'with incidental solos for Messrs John Kennedy, Edward Benton, and G. Stuart Thomson respectively should be popular items. The choir soloists will be Messrs A. R. Mitchell (tenor) and J D. M'Kechnie (bass), and there will be a duet by Messrs J. Kennedy and Cecil S. Hawes. Apart from the other six choir contributions there should be a feast of male voice singing. The lady soloist of the evening will be the gifted soprano, Mies Betty Pocock. whose first contribution will be a bracket, "To Music " and " The Wind in the Chimney" (Sanderson). In the second part of the programme she will sing "Rose Softly Blooming" (Spohr). The items of the 'cellist of the evening, Mr Victor A. Le Petit, will 'be "Alleero Appaflsionata" (Saint-Saens) and "Gavotte" (Popper). Amongst the choir items will be a scene from " The Miracle " (Humperdinck) which Mr W. R. Sinclair will conduct. Dr Galway will be at the organ. A choir of ladies under the direction of Mr Alfred Walmsley will' assist in this item.- The box plan is at Begg's.
