SHIPS FOR RUSSIA
■ TIMBER-CARRYING STEAMERS ORDER PLACED IN BRITAIN LONDON, July 18. The Daily Herald says that the Soviet has ordered seven timber-carrying steamers for £400,000 cash from the Furness Shipbuilding Company.
