MIDGET CAR
A midget car with front wheel drive <s being built by Mr George Smith, of Auckland. to his own designs. Mr Smith intends to use the car for racing purposes. Following pictures and plans of various English front-wheel drive racing cars. Mr Smith is working out specifications suitable for a small-size car. With the 72in wheel-base the car will have extremely small wheels, the rims having a diameter of 12in. It has not yet been decided what type of engine will be employed, but Mr Smith lias been making inquiries concerning a twin j.A.P. air-cooled motor. The body will be a plain racing type. As he is making the car in his spare time, Mr Smith does’not expect to complete it for a few months, but it should be ready for the coming racing season.
