COLLAPSE AFTER DANCE
FORMER MARINER’S DEATH (Peb United Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 1. After taking part in a Scottish dance at a Caledonian gathering on Saturday night, Alexander Brown, aged 75, collapsed and died. He retired three years ago from the Northern Steamship Company after 45 years’ service, his main ships being the Gairloch, Glenelg, Rotomahana, Aupori, Wellington, Rarawa and Ngapuhi. He crossed the Manukau bar about 4000 times.
