DRIVE AGAINST REBELS
THE POSITION IN CHINA PEKING, July 1. (Received July 1, at 10.30 p.m.) A big drive has been launched against the Chinese rebels who attacked Peking on June 28. Over 70 rebels were surrounded and disarmed near Tungchow, including General Tuanchunchin, who commandeered an armoured train with which the rebels shelled the city. He will be tried in Peking and the others will be tried in Tungchow. A reward of £ISOO has been offered for the capture alive of General Paichienwu, the rebel leader, and £750 for him dead.
