DUNEDIN CHORAL SOCIETY
TO-NIGHT'S MOZART CONCERT. The concert which will take place ia the main Town Hall this evening should be characterised by a high standard of musical entertainment. It should do much to enhance the society’s reputation. A number of Dunedin’s most prominent artists have been engaged, and the general arrangement of the “ allMozart ” programme gives promise of two hours of excellent entertainment. That great musical masterpiece— Mozart’s “ Requiem Mass ” —will be portrayed in English, the quartet being sung by four talented soloists. The rendering of “ The Mass ” constitutes a concert in itself, and it has never failed to arouse deep interest. Prominent artists will subscribe to a programme of first-grade music of the dramatic quality and strongly marked rhythm that are understood and so much appreciated by Dunedin audiences. The concert will open to-night with “ God Save the King” (arranged by Sir Edward Elgar), and Mrs Leonard Cronin will be the soloist.
