In addition to the Everest Expedition next year, three other Himalayan expeditions have been sanctioned by the Indian Government. Two are to be undertaken during this northern summer, and one in 1936. The German expedition, which is to include several botanists, will explore Chitral and search for the origin of wheat in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. The second expedition will consist of Dutch scientists, and a third will go out under the auspices of the French Alpine Club to study cosmic rays and explore peaks around the great Bailor Glacier, including K2, the second highest mountain in the world.
