BOXING
CONTESTS IN AUCKLAND (Peb United Press Association) AUCKLAND. July 1. Two professional box ins matches were staged to-night by the Auckland Boxing Association. The first bout was a catch weight one between Billy M'Kay. of Gisborne, and Billy Aitken, of Wellington, the last-named winning on points at the end of a scheduled 10 rounds. The winner proved himself the better boxer against a stronger fighter. The contrary was the case in the lightweight bout between Johnny M'Kay, of Gisborne, and Jack Jarvis, of Eltham. In this match M'Kay forced the pace from the start and his crowding tactics won him the margin on points.
