WRESTLING

AL PEREIRA v. GLENN WADE One of the best wrestling contests to be staged in Dunedin for a very long time should be that between Al. Pereira and Glenn Wade, which will take place at the Town Hall on Monday night. Wade, by his clean' and clever wrestling when he appeared here earlier in the season, made a very favourable impression with local wrestling enthusiasts, and Pereira, who will be making his initial appearance in the local ring this season, was a very firm favourite on his previous visits to this city some two years ago. According to northern sporting writers, he is wrestling better at present than at any previous period, and he will be a much fitter man than he was when he met the Nebraskan at Wellington three weeks ago, when the latter beat him by the only fall secured in the contest. As it will largely depend upon his showing against Wade in the coming contest, whether or not he will be in line for any more contests in the Dominion with the British Empire champion, M'Cready. patrons should be assured that he will give of his very best on Monday night. Even if Wade is successful, he will have to work hard for a win. The amateur preliminary bouts should be very interesting, and several boys will make their debut on this occasion. Suburban patrons will be able to catch their trains or buses, as the main bout will start promptly at 9 p.m. Patrons are advised to make their reserves early at the D.T.C.
